WORCESTER City manager John Barton is confident his side can upset title-chasing Bath City tomorrow.

Barton's men are chasing their ninth successive win in all competitions in the Dr Martens league Premier Division clash at St George's Lane (3pm).

Second placed Bath, who have lost just one league game all season and have conceded only 18 goals -- the best defensive record in the division -- present one of City's toughest challenges so far.

But Barton said: "The players are capable of it. On our day there is nothing to fear, although the league table says we haven't had enough of those days this season.

"The players have handled many difficult situations recently and have come through them well.

"This one presents its own problems. Bath want the points for different reasons to ourselves and they have an excellent record up to now, but it is a record that is there to be shot at."

City expect a bumper crowd of around 1,500 tomorrow, swelled by their great run.

Barton says the crowd can play as import a part as they did in the FA Umbro Trophy victory at Stalybridge last week. "The fans are enjoying it as much as the players, and all factions of the club can take a great deal of satisfaction from the recent run.,"

Bath will not take the game lightly, according to their former Hereford United defender, Kevin Lloyd. He said: "It will be really tough for us. Worcester have been going well lately and got a great result in the Trophy.

"If we can get three points I think we will be really flying."

City should stick to the side that played Stalybridge. Midfielder Paul Carty will play even though a booking tomorrow would rule him out of the Trophy tie at Telford on February 26.

Striker Sam Bowen's booking at Stalybridge means he will serve a one-match ban at Havant next Saturday.

Defender Martin Weir has responded well to treatment on his rib injury but is unlikely to be risked tomorrow, while midfielder Ian Cottrill is also doubtful after hurting an ankle in the car park after Tuesday's Worcestershire Senior Cup win at Evesham.
