SO could this be Worcester City's year for Wembly glory in the FA Umbro Trophy?

Having come through three contrasting ties with flying colours, who's to say they haven't got sufficient momentum to go all the way?

If John Barton's men get past Telford United in the last 16 on February 26 and then get the luck of the draw, there will be few sides left to fear in the competition.

There is no doubt that Telford will be their toughest assignment yet. The men from the Bucks Head have one of the best home records in the Nationwide Conference and have beaten several of the top sides, including leaders Kidderminster, Harriers twice -- once in the second round of the Trophy.

But Hayes are a similar side to Telford in that they have also upset most of the leaders, yet City brushed them aside 2-0 in round two -- a result that transformed their season.

City are so full of confidence having won eight games on the trot that they would fancy their chances against most non-league sides.

Grit and determination saw them through at Hayes and at Stalybridge last Saturday, and even when they didn't play well at home to Bromley, they had the character to come from behind and pull a result out of the fire.

What will help City is that they have several players who know what the Trophy is all about.

Defender Mark Tucker has two winners' medals with Woking and winger Keith Knight one with Cheltenham, while defender Martin Weir, winger Jon Purdie and midfielder John Deakin were all losing finalists with Kidderminster Harriers.

With the likes of Paul Carty, Kevin Willetts and Bradley Sandeman adding experience, Mark Owen and Sam Bowen in prolific form up front, youngsters Steve Lutz and Nathan Jukes playing out of their skins and goalkeeper Danny Watson showing his mettle, Telford will have plenty to think about.
