MALVERN enjoyed a convincing win at Bustleholme on Saturday, and this despite having to play for nearly an hour with just ten men after the 30th-minute dismissal of defender Dave Cannon.

BUSTLEHOLME 0, MALVERN TOWN 4

Town's hero was striker Dean Roberts who ran the home side's defence ragged all afternoon and picked up three goals in the process.

Robert's first strike came after 22 minutes when he rose to head home Jay Thomas's perfectly placed free kick and his second came just five minutes into the second half, when he brilliantly volleyed a Lee Hooper cross past a helpless home goalkeeper.

Despite their numeric disadvantage Town's defence were rarely troubled and in the main reduced the home side to long range speculative efforts and it was Malvern who extended their lead in the 78th minute.

This time substitutes Nathan Owen and Gordy Beauchamp combined superbly, with the latter finishing emphatically to register his first strike for Town following his recent transfer from Pershore.

But it was Roberts who inevitably had the last say, when he was pushed off the ball in the penalty area with just two minutes remaining and got up to drive the resultant penalty home, to register his sides fourth and final goal and his third of the afternoon.
