BEFORE the meeting, members lined up to have a photograph taken to celebrate 70 years of Wythall WI. After everyone had returned to their places, president Jill Warner welcomed the WI adviser for the evening, Christine Hickman-Smith. Jill once again expressed her thanks to everyone involved in the medieval banquet held last month to celebrate the 70th birthday of the institute and thanked members for entering into the spirit by dressing up.

Later in the evening there was a small slideshow of the banquet when all the costumes could be seen again.

Reports were heard of the trip to Sainsbury's to see a cookery demonstration and a walk around Arrow Valley Park, both of which had been very successful.

Members were told of arrangements for a shopping trip to Street and the county trip to Bath.

Pat Hunt gave a short report on the autumn council meeting and then Christine was invited to speak before conducting the AGM.

She told members about the WI's need to move with the times and form a database of all members' details and about the ideas for 2005, which sees the 90th anniversary of WI.

After the treasurer's report was explained to members, voting took place and Jill was again elected president and her committee remained unchanged.
