SPEAKER Robin Pearce brought numerous examples of grasses and sedges to illustrate his talk. Although they look very similar, the main difference between them is that sedges have a triangular stem and are evergreen and prefer wetter situations, while grasses have a round step and mainly die down in winter.
He had brought a wide variety in various colours, ranging from golden yellow to black and sizes to suit all gardens, with small ones suitable for the front of the border to very tall ones for further back.
On December 1, there will be a slideshow by Ann and Bill Wilson, followed by entertainment and a competition for Christmas decorations at Wythall Village Hall, Alcester Road, at 7.30pm.
