THE first graduate of a new assessment centre was presented with her certificate at an event held at Paddingtons Nursery last week.

Donna McHugh, 18, has worked towards her CACHE Childcare and Education Level II qualification for the last 18 months.

She has now completed it and is the first graduate of the assessment centre, which is unique to Worcestershire.

Rosies Playcare Limited - which owns Paddingtons Nursery - established the assessment centre in September 2003 and has many candidates who are reaching their goal of getting a recognised qualification while working and earning.

Rosie Twomey, Director of Rosies Playcare Limited, said: "Together with our trainees and staff, we've worked and invested our time and money to provide a first- class education and training experience in the area of childcare.

"This is professional work. Looking after children is the most important job in the world and we're all working as a team to ensure our assessment centre is graduating candidates with first-class knowledge, self confidence and most importantly an understanding of the importance of their role."
