DELIGHTED director of football Jan Molby saw 10-man Kidderminster Harriers' display as among their best in four years of Football League action.

The win, which he believes has secured their Division Three status by helping them reach the 50-point mark, was on the back of a dismal 1-0 defeat at basement boys Carlisle.

Molby insisted: "That was as good a performance that we've produced in the four years we've been in the Football League.

"It was with 10 men, no confidence after Saturday's defeat at Carlisle and with everybody slagging the players off, quite rightly so. So to do this took some bottle and energy.

"Huddersfield are a super side, they've got good players, but I thought in all areas we were magnificent.

"Having seen Huddersfield play I thought 11 versus 11 would be extremely difficult. How we found the energy to do what we did with 10 men, I'll never know.

"I still feel come the end of the season it will be proven that the teams who go down will have less than 50 points.

"But I want us to finish the season with the same attitude we showed against Huddersfield. To do it every now and then isn't enough."

However, Molby was not happy with loan signing Ian Foster who was sent off for violent conduct and now faces a three-match ban that may bring his temporary spell to an end.

The Dane said: "It was a ridiculous thing for Foster to do. We had no complaints, he deserved to go.

"I'm not interested in what went on before, I'm only interested in what he did and that could have cost us."

After Saturday's defeat at Carlisle, Molby was unhappy with more than just Foster and admitted keeper John Danby had kept them in the game.

He added: "We knew we had to be physically ready as Carlisle were on a run of good results. But for the first 35 minutes we were powder puff. Carlisle got what they deserved."
