TELFORD United manager Andy Mutch says that Worcester City winger Jon Purdie could be one of the biggest threats to his side tomorrow.

Former Wolves striker Mutch, who took over the Telford hot-seat earlier this month, played alongside Purdie at Molineux in the mid-1980s.

He said: "Jon was technically a very good player, that is plain to see. He can control the ball well, can pass it well and has certainly got ability."

Mutch watched City beat Merthyr Tydfil on Monday and commented; "They worked hard to get the result.

"But we have to be on our game to give ourselves a chance of winning. We have to make sure we keep our foot on the gas throughout."

Worcester have been boosted by the news that three of Telford's key defenders -- Jim Bentley, Kevin Sandwith and Mark Albrighton -- are all likely to miss the game through injury.

But they should have their skipper, former Hereford United midfielder Brian McGorry, back from 'flu, while ex-Kidderminster Harriers player Jon Ford should line up at the back.

Telford have one of the best home records in the Nationwide Conference with nine wins in 15 games.

They have yet to win away, however, although they have won five times on their travels in cup competitions, including a 4-2 win at Kidderminster in the second round.
