DROITWICH A got the better of West Midlands Phones A in the Bromsgrove and Redditch Association Division One.

Trevor Simmons inspired Spa with three victories, while Don Evans and Gordon Nicklin won one match each and the doubles. Colin Would and Don Shillingford won two matches for Phones.

Astwood Bank were too good for Droitwich B, winning 9-1, with wins for Matt Hartwell (3), Dave Wood (3) and Pete Kelly (2). Wood and Hartwell also won the doubles for Astwood, while Graham Fisher won Spa's only game.

Ian Scott and Mark Cornish won three games each as Cofton A defeated newly promoted Hillcrest 8-2.

Jason McFaul won two matches for Cofton, while Alan McLoughlin won one for Hillcrest and teamed up with Graeme Farrall for the doubles.

Champions Lickey Monarchs defeated West Midlands Phones B 10-0 and Coughton went down 9-1 to Cofton Hackett B.

In Division Two SPSP came from 5-0 down to draw 5-5 with Barnt Green Hornets, after wins for captain Sam Lloyd (2), Winterbourne and Govier - who also won the doubles.

For the Hornets Paul Grigg (2), Ivor Anderson (2) and Tony Lawson won their matches.

Studley Road Nomads got the better of Lickey Rocs 6-4, with Bernie Leech (2) and Jeff Lines (2) victorious in the singles, before teaming up to win the doubles game.

Sue Leech won the Nomad's other game, while Bob Barlow (3) and Brian Askey were victorious for the Rocs.

John Emmett won three matches to help Carter Retail defeat Droitwch C 8-2, with Eddy Brown and Martin Borg also winning. Neil Pickering bagged two wins for Spa.

Studley Road Terriers defeated Droitwich E 9-1, while West Midlands Phones B trounced Droitwich D 10-0.
