AS well as confirming his pursuit of strikers Richard Walker and Phil Jevons, Jan Molby is also keeping a close eye on John Melligan's future.

The former Harriers loan favourite, who won the title with Doncaster playing on the right side of midfield, has a year left on his contract at Wolves but does not seem to have a future at Molineux.

Harriers are keen to step in if West Brom winger Simon Brown, another success at Aggborough during the season, becomes available for loan again.

Ex-Aston Villa prospect Walker, released by Oxford, and Grimsby's player-of-the-season Jevons are also in Molby's sights.

Walker is a free agent but Jevons, 24, may still be offered a new contract by Grimsby who have recently taken Scarborough's Russell Slade as their new manager.

Of Melligan, Molby said: "I have seen him play for Doncaster and whilst they have been playing him out of position, his attitude has been superb. He worked hard for the team.

"Any player of his talent that is prepared to do that is definitely a player we'd be interested in.

"He has 12 months left on his contract at Wolves so it depends on what happens there.

"But he has been on loan here and at Doncaster so there is the suggestion that his future doesn't lie with them and if that's the case we might be interested."

It is no secret Molby would want to re-sign Brown, who has been awarded another year's contract at Albion, if given the chance.

And Molby repeated his interest in the 20-year-old, stating: "Simon did ever so well for us and I think we've seen half of what he can do.

"Having said that, he is on another 12-month contract at West Brom and he remains with them.

"What happens in those 12 months we'll monitor and if he becomes available on loan again we will try and be at the head of the queue.

"The one advantage we have is that he has already been here and enjoyed it, so we'll look at the situation again in July."
