AVONCROFT Museum's latest exhibit, Forge Cottage which had been rescued from Wellington in Herefordshire, was being erected at the popular tourist attraction at Stoke Heath in Bromsgrove.

EYE specialists from all over the world were in Bromsgrove for the first Intraocular Implant Society's workshop,which was held at the town's general hospital. They watched operations being performed via CCTV. John Pearce, the society's secretary, was a consultant at the hospital.

500 ANGRY parents packed into a public meeting held at Waseley Hills High School to protest over county council proposals to close the high school at Frankley two miles away. The authority said the falling birth rate was one reason.

BROMSGROVE District Council looked set to bow to pressure to cater for youngsters caught up in the latest craze to cross the Atlantic from America - skateboarding. The council was considering installing a purpose-built facility, probably in Sanders Park, for the boarders.

BURGLARS who broke in to the John Birch Guitars premises in New Road, Rubery, knew exactly what they were after. From a room full of instruments they chose to take four guitars and two amplifiers worth £1,500. The firm manufactured guitars on the premises and had some big names in the rock business among its customers.
