THE mother of a young girl who died from flu has organised a fashion and beauty show in her memory.

Three-year-old Tamara Whitty - nicknamed Tamara Tippy-Toes by her family because of her love of dancing - passed away suddenly from the illness on Saturday, November 22, last year.

Now her mum, Lynette Cottrill, who runs fashion-company Attire Couture from her home in Bolton Avenue, Warndon Villages, Worcester, has organised a special event at Pershore High School to mark the first anniversary.

Proceeds from the day will go to Acorns Children's Hospice.

"Having lost my daughter I wanted to do something to help other children who are ill," she said.

The show is being co-organised by Dee Harker, manager of Pershore-based hairdressers Sweeney Todds.

"I have a little girl and can appreciate how precious children are," said Mrs Harker.

"The event will give visitors the chance to enjoy a catwalk show and try out the range of treatments we offer.

"The girls from the salon are also pitching in to offer demonstrations.

"I hope as many as possible come along and enjoy a good night."

The evening, which kicks off at 7.30pm on Wednesday, December 1, will boast a catwalk show to display the latest designer labels and hair and make-up trends, as well as a mini-exhibition of a range of beauty products and treatments.

Experts will be on hand to give pampering tips to make that special occasion even more special.

"As well as fund-raising, we want to demonstrate that glamorous dresses and wonderful hair make-up is for everyone, with dress sizes from six to 30." added Miss Cottrill.

Tickets for the event, at £7.50 including refreshments, are available from Sweeney Todds in Pershore's High Street or by calling Dee on 01386 555719 or Lynette on 01905 759654.
