POLICE are appealing for information after a driver offered a nine-year-old boy money to get in his car in Kidderminster.
The incident happened as the boy was walking along Woodward Road in the town, when a silver estate-type car drew up beside him.
The male driver opened his window a few inches and offered the boy £100 to get in. But the boy ran off to a friend's home, and alerted his friend's father, who escorted him home.
The incident happened at about 5.15pm on Saturday, November 13 and the vehicle is described as having blacked-out windows and blue lights on the windscreen washer jets.
It carried on up Woodward Road towards the shops and then turned up Tomkinson Drive.
"Although no effort was made to force the boy into the car, the incident is obviously concerning," said a police spokesman.
"The boy did the right thing in running to safety and telling a responsible adult what had happened."
Anyone with information is asked to contact Kidderminster Police on 08457 444888 or Crimes-toppers on 0800 555111.
