A MALVERN actor is taking the lead role in Tennessee Williams' atmospheric semi-autobiographical play The Glass Menagerie.
The play is being staged by the Swan Theatre Amateur Company at Worcester's Swan Theatre from Tuesday, November 23-27, at 7.30pm.
Tom, the Mississippi-born son of a travelling salesman, will be played by Lee Farley from Malvern, who trained as an actor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama.
Mr Farley, pictured left, has performed for radio, in TV and films as well as on stage in Malvern. He is currently working on various Drama in Education projects.
He is joined by Celinda Myatt as Tom's domineering mother and Lizzie Crow as his crippled sister.
Playing a gentleman caller is J J Smith, a teacher and DJ. He has been a presenter with Radio Ceredigion and has appeared with Malvern Theatre Players and Colwall Players.
Directing this production is Alan Davidson, who first trod the Swan's boards in 1982 with The Hollow. He went on to train and work as an actor in London and has been honing his skills as a director, memorably with The Philanthropist in Malvern and Bed and The Ghost Train at the Swan.
