MEMBERS of Arden Sailing Club Defford were faced with winds varying in strength from a nice force two to non-existent.
Race officer Wayne Evans set a short course but over a number of laps. A good start by a substantial turnout saw all boats clear the line within seconds, Richard Drink-water sailing his Enterprise for the first time since June established an early lead on lap one.
This was greatly reduced on lap two as Eric Ison (Laser) and Jeremy & Michelle Griffiths (Enterprise) closed in with the wind filling in from behind.
At the start of lap three Richard sailed into a hole and lost numerous places. This enabled Jeremy to open up a commanding lead which he held to the end of the shortened fourth and final lap. Erick Ison was second and Richard third.
