YOUNGSTERS gave the seal of approval to a new youth club in Malvern Wells.
Rock Solid was launched by All Saints' Church with a firework display, flame juggling, disco and the creation of a giant banana split.
About 30 children, aged between 11 and 12, attended the opening last Friday, November 5.
Rev Iain McFarlane, who has organised Rock Solid with church member Richard Ditchburn, said it had been a great success.
He explained: "If you can imagine what the church usually looks like, we cleared everything in it to one side and handed it over to disco lights, smoke machines and video projections to make it look like any other youth venue.
"Every one of the children's parents that I talked to said they had such a great time that they were going to bring a friend next time."
Mr McFarlane and Mr Ditchburn decided to open the Friday night club in response to a parish needs survey that identified a demand for activities by children in the 11-12 age bracket.
Mr Ditchburn is a qualified youth leader and volunteered his expertise. He said there had not been a youth club in Malvern Wells for several years.
"It'll certainly be the most ambitious event that's been thrown open to young people in the area," he said.
Rock Solid continues tonight (Friday), from 7.30pm to 9pm, and every Friday during term time. Entry is 50p.
