MAY I take this opportunity to voice my concerns about the proposed over-development of the former North Site on Leigh Sinton Road.
Having lived on Newtown Road for the last 14 years, we have seen year on year a steady increase in the volume of traffic, most of which does not comply with the 30mph limit and with some, much later at night, using it as a race track travelling at speeds in excess of 60mph.
The extra volume of traffic this development will undoubtedly bring can only add to the dangers already present, particularly when there are large numbers of young children crossing the road to attend St Joseph's Primary School.
May I therefore add my name to the growing list of residents in this area who propose that along with this inevitable development the following are included: A ring road; affordable/shared housing; expansion of secondary schools; sympathetic development of the site; and the consideration of existing residents.
