Brides and grooms swapped aisle for catwalk at Dyson Perrins High School on Wednesday.

Pupils and teachers modelled dresses and tuxedos for a bridal and evening wear fashion show, in aid of Breast Cancer Research.

Dresses were supplied by Lisa Summerfield, a teacher at the school, who is setting up her own bridal and evening wear store, Sara and Dawn on Howsell Road.

Tuxedos were provided by Matalan, bouquets were made up by Petals florists, and Air hairdressers transformed students into blushing brides.

Chantel Summerfield, 16, one of the event organisers and model, said she was excited about taking part.

"I've been so busy, I haven't really had time to think about it all, but I'm enjoying it," she said.

Lisa, who got married in July, was a teacher in Birmingham, before coming to Dyson Perrins and starting to set up the bridal business.

"I was going to give up teaching," she said. "I was only going to stay at the school until Christmas, but I'm enjoying it so much here, I'm going to carry on."

She said her mother would look after the shop during the week and she would run it at the weekends.

She added that the fashion show gave her the opportunity to display some of her stock, while raising money for a worthy charity.

Her husband Paul, who was modelling, added: "It's all come together nicely, the sixth form charity committee has been great and local businesses have been extremely generous.

"We were aiming to raise £1,000 but I think we've exceeded that now."
