TALKING of church bells (J Lewis, November 4) I well remember as a lad at Aston Somerville, in the 1940/50s, St Mary's Church gave three sessions on the big bell before each service, followed by a short burst on the little bell. When the little bell started ringing, we had to hurry, or we'd have been late for church.
