THE owners of a British shorthair cat who went missing at a Stourport caravan park are appealing for Wyre Forest residents to help find him.

Steve and Vera Hill, from Southampton, were staying at Lickhill Manor Park for an International Caravanning Fellowship of Rotarians rally with their two cats, Timmy and Chelti, when 13-year old Timmy went missing.

Mr and Mrs Hill had placed him in his harness with a retractable lead to let him go for a walk outside the caravan on Thursday, September 23.

When Mr Hill went to bring him in 10 minutes later, he found that the cat's lead had wound round the caravan stay and Timmy had broken free from the harness.

The couple searched the 40-acre rally field every day before returning home on September 27 and notified local vets, the police and the RSPCA. They also sent out flyers with Timmy's photograph on and advertised throughout the local area.

Since returning home, Mr and Mrs Hill have made two unsuccessful journeys back to Stourport to try and find him.

Mrs Hill said: "He is not a cat to be picked up and would struggle, as he does with us. Obviously, he has no road sense with always being restricted on a lead in the garden and caravan from three months old."

She added: "We are desperate to know what happened to him and hopefully get him back. Life at home is not the same and Chelti, we are sure, is wondering why he is on his own."

Timmy does not have an identity tag, as it was attached to his harness. Anyone who has seen Timmy can contact Steve and Vera on 02380 448155 or 07713271049.
