AFTER battling back to force an equaliser Ten-bury were denied a point from their opening game in the Herefordshire Badgers Hockey League when Newent snatched a winner three minutes from time.
The visitors scored with a breakaway goal after seven minutes. The home side fought back and almost levelled the score when Cassie Brown hit the post.
The Newent keeper was in inspired form but with time running out Jo Aldridge netted an equaliser when she slapped the ball into the bottom corner.
They thought they had salvaged a point but then came the cruel winner.
