EVESHAM'S two senior sides were inactive last weekend due to fixture postponements and other rearrangements.
The first team is enjoying one of its most successful starts to a season for many years and, with one defeat in nine matches, are lying fourth in Midlands Four West (South) and are looking to mount an attack on the sides above them.
Under the staunch leadership of scrum-half Gary Diston, the side is slowly blossoming into a team to be watched and feared.
With matches coming up against higher-placed Keresley and Solihull, they have a great opportunity to claim two good scalps.
The forwards have been playing superbly with Lloyd Jiles, Luke Matthews, Chris Maritza and Dave Scott in the spotlight.
Behind the scrum, centre Chris Evis continues to marshall his young back division well where Tom Archer, Rick Taylor and veteran Paul Turpitt are prominent.
The second team, meanwhile, have picked up exactly where they left off last season.
They too have lost just one of their nine matches and sit pretty on top of the Merit League.
Under the meticulous leadership of Maurice Parkinson, they have produced some magnificent rugby and are finishing sides off at a canter.
With the added bonus of regular action for the third and fourth teams, the club is in buoyant mood and more success awaits.
Anyone interested in joining the rugby revolution is invited along to training at Lower Albert Road on Tuesday or Thursdays from 7pm.
Alternatively, pop down any Saturday for a 2.30pm start and see the teams in action at first hand.
