Old Halesonians 5, Bredon Buzzards U-14 19pts
THE Buzzards were on the road for first round action in the North Midlands County Junior Cup.
The forwards soon assumed control with some strong rucking and mauling with Will Ripley at blindside flanker making life difficult for the opposing scrum-half.
Bredon's first try came from a blindside No 8 pick up by James Waite who moved the ball to right wing John Harkness who scored in the corner for a 5-0 interval lead.
The visitors raised their game after the break and Waite broke through Halesowen's defensive line to score under the posts.
Centre Chris Lynn added the extra two points that sealed victory despite a late home reply.
