CLEOBURY Mortimer Golf Club got in the swing to welcome their new captains and say thank you to the outgoing skippers.

New club captain Carl Genese and new ladies captain Sylvia Tudor-Hughes took part in a "drive-in" to celebrate their appointments.

They replaced Tony Groves and Sue Jarman who were involved in a traditional "drive out" to toast their time at the helm.

The drive-in took place before the shotgun start of a Texas Scramble Competition contested by seventy-six members in teams of four.

The second annual Ombersley Golf Club Am/Am last month was won by the team comprising two home members - Janet Gore and Sandra Pomeroy - scoring 84 points.

October Medal: Joyce Duncan 69, June Reynolds-Lacy 71, Alison Fraser 71.

Fil D'Or Trophy: Sally Wilkinson 39, Lynn Mamos 37, Fraser 35.

At Wyre Forest Golf Club, Sue Giblin won the Ladies Section October Stableford.

Results: Giblin handicap 26, 32 points; Pat Bowater 36-30, Dawn Gregg 22-27, Millie Whitmore 34-26.

Andy Bradley won the Men's Mid-week Medal, on countback from Robert Sparks.

Result: Bradley 78 gross 8 handicap 70, Sparks 86-16-70, Dave Hadley 87-15-72. Bogey Competition: 1 Steve Price, 2 Steve Clift, 3 Colin Davis.

Bob Hill equalled the course record of 65 gross (62 nett) at Little Lakes Golf Club, winning the Men's November Medal with 44 points.

Jason Albutt came second with 43, on countback.

Division Two: Andy Rammell 38, RJ Wilson 38 (on countback).

Division Three: Dave Cooper 43, Dean Flowers 40.

Ladies November Medal: Pauline Baylis 31, Judith Davies 29.

Roy Matthews won the November Stableford at Kidderminster Golf Club, with 41 points. In second place was Carl Richardson on 38 points, ahead of Simon Wilcox on last nine.
