MORE than double the expected cash amount was generated by a sponsored charity event organised by a Stourport woman.
Lynda Griffiths's initiative, the Lincomb Fun Run and Walk, raised just over £2,150, exceeding the £1,000 target.
Proceeds from the event, held Lincomb Farm in September, will go to the Acorns Children's Hospice.
The hospice, currently under construction in Worcester, provides youngsters with life-limiting illnesses with respite care.
Mrs Griffiths, 41, described herself as "truly delighted" by the success of the event, adding: "Acorns Fun Run and Walk will, hopefully, grow in 2005 to include a 10K as well as the 5K and one mile."
Cash prizes were awarded to winnersand everyone taking part got a medal.
