GOLF girl Gemma Glennister is following in her father's footsteps after achieving sporting success at the age of just 11.
The Burlish Middle School pupil is the daughter of Ombersley Golf Club professional and manager Graham Glennister.
And she proved she was a chip off the old block by triumphing in a recent Ladies Champion of Champions competition at the club.
Glennister junior qualified for the tournament by winning a mixed pairs contest with fellow Ombersley member Bill Yardley.
And she more than justified her entry by leading a field of 14 competitors to take the trophy with a nett round of 67.
Her mother Sue said Gemma , who took up golf at the age of five, had reduced her handicap from 34 to 32 by spending hours practising during the recent school holidays.
"She takes after her dad and she's got a certain amount of natural ability," she added.
