A NUMBER of city organisations are among charities that will benefit from the sale of Christmas cards this year.
For every £1 spent at St Helen's Church, High Street, Worcester, 81p will be donated to around 25 local and national charities, including St Richard's Hospice, Acorns Children's Hospice appeal and Leukaemia Care.
Glenda Willis, the shop's manager, said the remaining 19p would go towards the cost of producing the cards, distributing them and paying VAT.
"All the staff are volunteers, so that keeps the cost down," said Ms Willis.
"A large proportion of the sales does actually go to charities to help people in need."
She said last year the nationwide chain of charity shops raised just under £5m for a number of good causes.
The shop will be open until Saturday, December 18.
