COUGHTON got the better of Droitwich A 7-3 in the latest rounds of the Redditch and Bromsgrove Table Tennis Association Division One.

Gary Jackson and Terry Rawlings won three matches each, while Bob Watts grabbed the other for Coughton.

Gordon Nicklin and Tony Birch won one match each for Spa and teamed up to take the doubles.

Droitwich Spa B were away at West Midland phones A and came away with a 5-5 draw thanks to Mark Fiddian, who won all his three games.

Graham Fisher won one and then teamed up with Fiddian to win the doubles and ensure the draw.

Don Shillingford and Kelvin Vernon both won two matches for Phones with Colin Would getting the other.

Champions Lickey Monarchs beat Astwood Bank 8-2 with Eric Hardman and Mervyn Wood both winning their three games as well as the doubles.

Martin Clark got the Monarch's final win, while Dave Wood and Matt Hartwell won one each for the Bank.

Captain Mark Cornish and Ian Scott both won three games each for Cofton Hackett as well as the doubles in their 9-1 win over West Midland Phones B. Jason McFaul got their other win and Dave Lyne got the Phones' only win.

Cofton Hackett B defeated Hillcrest 9-1 with Sasha Grokhoton and Pat McNabe winning threematches as well as the doubles. Duncan Russell got the other two, while Mark Bennett bagged Hillcrest's only win.

In Division Two Studley Road Terriers went down 6-4 at home to Barnt Green Hornets, despite the efforts of the captain Peter Hartles (3) and John Dignum.

Paul Grigg and Ivor Anderson both won two for Barnt Green as well as the doubles, while Tony Lawton got their other win.

Studley Road Nomads ran out 6-4 winners away at SPSP after captain Bernie Leech won his three games, with Ian Cairns and Jeff Lines bagging one each.

Leach and Lines also teamed up to win the doubles. Steve Colley won two for SPSP with Winterbourne and Nicholls getting one each.

Lickey Rocs threw away a 3-0 lead in the 5-5 draw with Carter Retail. Bob Barlow won two games for the Rocs, while Eddy Brown and Martin Borg won two each for Carter, while John Emmett grabbed the other.

Droitwich D beat Droitwich E 6-4, with Matthew Hentage winning three for the victors.

Chris Tsang won two and Nick Seabourne one for the D team. Andy Ross won two for the E side with Nick Ross and Steve Buckland winning one each.

West Midland Phones C ran out 9-1 winners against Droitwich C. Alan Hyatt and Ian Maybury both won three for the Phones with Dot Sheward winning two, while Dave Crisp got Droitwich's only victory.
