True E Baylis, not all disabled drive their cars allocated by Motability (but paid for by their own DLA) they are unable to drive for one reason another, they are blind etc.

So they nominate a driver to do it for them. The badge and photograph is issued in the disabled persons name only.

As for using taxis, let's live in the real world. How many taxis can take a wheelchair that does not break down.

Also, a lot of disabled people have to be put directly into their own wheelchair from their bed and stay there until they go back to bed.

I agree entirely if the disabled person is not using the car, the car should not use a disabled parking space.

Finally, E Baylis, with reference your comment on charges, I sincerely hope you are never disabled and unable to work.
