BELATED thanks to a couple called Keith and Sandra (and Sandra's 85-year-old mother) who were in a car travelling through Fairfield the other night.
I suffered a flat tyre, and as panic set in a silver car pulled up and these very pleasant people offered to help.
After the wheel had been changed the car wouldn't start because of a low battery and time was marching on. But after pushing the car down a hill I was once again mobile. Unfortunately at this point my good samaritans had gone and I hadn't properly thanked them.I believe they live off the Birmingham Road.
It is heartwarming to know that people like this are still around.
And a lesson to all lady drivers - always carry your AA/RAC details. Mine were in another handbag and the cost of a 24 hour breakdown service, quoted over my mobile phone hotline, was very OTT.
