THE Exiles had hoped for fireworks but only got a damp squib as Dudley Kingswinford lit the touchpaper and ended up sparkling more than the home side.
Injuries and other commitments did not help the Redditch cause as Dudley asserted themselves with two converted tries in the first half.
But when Dudley looked like rolling over Redditch the home side held firm.
The visitors only scored one more try after using their weight in the scrum to push over from five metres.
