RARELY would I rise to the bait thrown in my direction but I really couldn't ignore Jim Brant's letter in last week's edition.
Jim attributes last year's music festival in Droitwich to me. No, Jim, I did the carnival the year before which though very successful could not be continued for economic and health and safety reasons (red tape).
Last year's event was the Phoenix drawn from the carnival ashes and for this we must thank Richard Brighton and all of us serving on Droitwich Association for Retail, Tourism and Services committee (DARTS), and most of all Wychavon District Council officers who freely gave their expertise and time.
That really must hurt Jim Brant. Never mind, cheer up. We are looking forward to next year's bigger and better event and I will of course be involved. I propose when we are enjoying the jazz this time, I will buy you a pint. Diary date July 4 to 9.
