Headless Cross Ladies 3

Stratford Town Ladies 2

HEADLESS Cross Ladies made it five wins out of six after coming from a goal behind to take the spoils at Abbey Stadium.

Stratford Ladies pressurised Cross in the opening exchanges and took the lead after 20 minutes but Teresa Boddington volleyed home the equaliser five minutes before the break to go in at half-time level.

After the interval Headless Cross Ladies started to dominate the game and took a deserved lead when Jade Craddock picked out Boddington to net in her second thanks to a wicked deflection off a Stratford defender.

Coral Ioney sealed the Cross victory emphatically midway through the second half after being played through by debutante Emma Brayley.

Town grabbed a second goal with ten minutes to go but Cross held out for victory.

Headless Cross manager Rob Auld said: "After our second half performance we deserved the victory.

"We're still missing five players in Ellicott, Markham, Flothmann, Paronuzzi and Pate but the three new signings in Brayley, England and Rhodes have all slotted straight into the team well."

Sunday sees cross travel to unbeaten TNS.

Headless Cross Ladies reserves travelled to Worcester Atheletic but were denied their first points of the season in the dying minutes of the game.

After a goalless first half, Worcester took the lead with 65 minutes gone before Mandy Hill grabbed the Cross equalised from five yards out.

But Cross conceded a soft goal in the final five minutes to continue their pointless run.
