FLEET-footed Sarah Waldron has clinched a place in the England Under 20 women's cross-country team.

The Worcester Sixth Form College student will race in the Margate International on Sunday against teams from Scotland, Ireland, Wales and Belgium.

Waldron, a 1,500 metre track specialist, gained selection following an impressive display at the Reebok Cross-country Challenge.

She finished fifth in a high-class international field at Senneleys Park, Birmingham.

Waldron, who is studying a national diploma in sports science, is a member of the sixth form college's athletics academy.

Their team won the opening race of the West Mercia Cross Country League at Callow End last month with Waldron the overall victor on the day.

She is a member of Shaftsbury Barnet Harriers Athletics Club and clearly has a bright future ahead.
