FOUR decades of care will be celebrated today at a Redditch centre dedicated to providing services for adults with learning disabilities.
Staff, service users and carers at Millfields Day Centre, in Middlehouse Lane, Enfield, are holding a 40th birthday party which also marks the implementation of changes there.
Centre manager Shirley Howson said: "We're really excited about the birthday party which has a 60s theme.
"We are able to celebrate the past 40 years while embracing future changes to the service.
"Modernising day services will promote independence and encourage service users to be more involved in the development of their education, leisure pursuits and employment."
Service user Brenda Barley said she enjoyed the centre as it gave her independence from home.
"I can meet my friends there," she added.
