A BRETT Fitzpatrick brace ensured the Churchmen took all three points against lowly Ludlow Town.

Fitzpatrick opened the scoring after eight minutes before Andy Sutton doubled the Lye Meadow team's advantage on 20 minutes.

Fitzpatrick then killed off the game with his third on 26 minutes before Liam O'Shea got a fourth in the dying seconds.

It was just what Church boss Peter Frain was looking for from his team in the league this season and he was hoping his side could continue their form as they took on Loughborough Dynamo last night.

He said: "We were 3-0 up at half time so the damage was really done in the first half.

"It was a very good performance from the lads but one of the pleasing things for me, apart from the clean sheet, was the strike partnership between Fitzpatrick and Keith Rostill.

"Brett took his first goal very well and it was Rostill's first game for a few weeks but you can instantly see that they had played together before and that was the telling factor for us."

Frain reckons Fitzpatrick could be in line for the Alliance golden boot if he continues his form infront of goal.

He said: "I was looking at the records before the game and there are a few players on about nine goals this season which Brett was one.

"But after his two on Saturday he should be leading the way already and if he carries on the way there's no reason why he shouldn't think about it."

And with five goals to his name this season, Rostill shouldn't be too far behind his team-mate.

The Church also have a FA Vase round two fixture against Holbeach United to look forward to after dumping Buckingham Town out of the competition 4-2 last week.

Alvechurch will travel to Holbeach on Saturday, November 20 where £1,000 will go to the winners.
