AN Alcester man is planning to revive a town tradition in the hope of raising cash for charity.
Mathew Skinner wants to relaunch the house-to-house collection in aid of Children in Need, on November 19, and is looking for volunteers to help him.
The collection used to be co-ordinated by Alcester Lions but, since their demise, Mr Skinner thinks little has been done in the town towards the national charity event.
Volunteers, who will be issued with ID badges, will be expected to collect for a couple of hours on the Friday night, taking the money to the collection point at the Alcester Unionist Club in High Street.
Anyone willing to help can contact Mr Skinner on 01789 763759, 01789 400717 or 01527 525754.
