WORCESTER City's player-coach John Snape hailed widemen Nick Colley and Tom Warmer following Saturday's 3-0 FA Trophy victory over Chippenham Town.

Both wingers played influential roles in the first round downfall of the Southern League Premier Division leaders at St George's Lane.

Former Tamworth midfielder Colley scored City's opener on 58 minutes before capping a man-of-the-match performance by having a hand in goals by Adam Webster and Snape.

Teenager Warmer, who was snapped up by manager John Barton in pre-season after being released by West Bromwich Albion, also excelled on the left wing with a combative display.

It was the youngster's fifth consecutive appearance and his second start in a City shirt following an impressive full debut in last Monday's Carthium Cup triumph against Stafford.

Snape paid tribute to both players and is confident they can reproduce similar efforts against Droylsden in Nationwide North this Saturday, if given the selection nod by manager John Barton.

He said: "Tom and Nick gave us great attacking options, especially in the second-half. They both worked hard and got up and down the wings all afternoon.

"Nick is now producing the level of consistency that he had at Tamworth and that was the reason John brought him here. He realised he is our outlet on the right-hand side and he is doing a good job.

"Tom has come in for the last couple of games and has not looked out of place. He has been plugging away in the reserves and is desperate to play well now that he's got his chance."

City's reserves take on Nuneaton Borough at St George's Lane tonight in the Central Conference Cup (7.45), while the youth team are at Evesham United in the Midland Floodlit League (7.30).
