SHOPPERS tucked in to cake and snapped up some bargains to help celebrate a Pershore charity shop's first birthday.
The Acorns Children's Hospice shop at 18a The High Street, Pershore, officially opened on November 1 last year. Manager Carol Chambers said it has been a fantastic first year, raising much-needed funds to help life-limited children and their families.
To mark the milestone anniversary, staff and volunteers invited people to call into the shop on Saturday to enjoy a piece of birthday cake.
"It's been a super first year. People are so supportive," said Carol Chambers.
"The shop has a great team of dedicated staff and volunteers and along with the kindness of customers, they have helped to bring a lifeline to families with children who are unlikely to reach adulthood."
All the money raised through the shop helps Acorns offer respite, emergency and terminal care through its two hospices and round-the-clock support through the community team.
