TWO new paramedics have joined the County Air Ambulance base at Strensham.

Paramedics working for the charity usually only work with the helicopter one week in four, but Stuart Keitley and Dave Lee will be there on a permanent basis.

The pair are part of a team of six recruited to work across the Midlands. They will be brought up to speed on new technology and dealing with trauma scenes.

Air operations manager Ian Clayton said: "Having a permanent crew will ensure the best standards are constantly met."

As part of their work, the paramedics will visit hospital trauma teams and operating theatres, advising the medical staff about the best way to utilise the Air Ambulance.
