DO any readers remember the Lanchester Marionette Theatre in Malvern?
Waldo Lanchester and his wife Muriel ran the Little Theatre at Foley House, Worcester Road, from 1936 until 1946, and remained in Malvern until 1951. They were regular performers at the Malvern Festival and also ran a touring puppet show that travelled all over Britain.
Muriel Lanchester was born Muriel Bell and before her marriage to Waldo ran the St Anne's Pottery, also in Malvern.
I am writing a book about the Lanchesters and would be delighted to hear from any readers who would like to share their memories of Waldo or Muriel or who have any recollections of the puppets, pots and performances.
