ANCHOR Falcons' perfect start to the Worcester League Division Three season was well and truly blown apart on Sunday when they lost at Brickfields to Saracen Rangers on a heavy pitch.

SARACEN RANGERS 7, ANCHOR FALCONS 2

Despite being without four first team players and having goalkeeper Marcus Henney suspended, the Falcons travelled in good spirits after their fine start of five wins from five games.

It was all but a distant memory by half-time as they trailed 4-0 and in truth never looked like getting back into the game.

Second half goals from Rich Lambert and Russ Collins did redress the balance somewhat until Rangers piled on more misery to run out comfortable winners.

Paul Park's hard-working midfield display earned him the man of the match award, and some of his team-mates would have been well advised to achieve his level of performance.

With no game this Sunday the Falcons management will be out on the training field with their players instead, putting the squad through its paces attempting to put right what went wrong. Squad to meet at Dysons at 10.30am.
