MALVERN Ladies put in an excellent team performance to defeat Kidderminster Ladies for the second week running, this time in the Wyvern Cup.

KIDDERMINSTER HARRIERS LADIES 2, MALVERN LADIES 5

Malvern dominated the first half and created several good chances, Natalie Holmes, Emily Prosser and Stacie Doyle all causing the Kidderminster defence problems.

Kidderminster rarely crossed the half way line and when they did, found the Malvern defence in outstanding form, particularly player-of-the-match Heidi Barlow who made several excellent interceptions.

Malvern deservedly took the lead midway through the first half with Emily Prosser calmly placing the ball past the advancing keeper to make it 1-0 at half time.

Malvern started where they left off in the second half and took a two-goal lead when a Polly Bounds cross was met at the far post by Natalie Holmes.

Kidderminster tried to get back into the game but back came Malvern and after good work by Stacie Doyle, her cross was powerfully headed home by Emily Prosser.

Kidderminster briefly rallied and pulled a goal back with a stroke of luck when a shot hit the cross bar and re-bounded in off a home forward and went in.

The goal seemed to spur Kidderminster on and after a goalmouth scramble the ball trickled over the line to make it 3-2.

Malvern regained their composure and pushed forward again and after good work by Ella Buckle and Natalie Holmes, Polly Bounds low shot went in off the post to take a two goal lead again.

Malvern completed the scoring with a Polly Bounds shot from 25 yards into the roof of the net.
