YOUR article 'Station staff attract praise' (Malvern Gazette & Ledbury Reporter, October 22) is only Central Trains patting itself on the back.
This is no consolation for passengers, who put up with constant ticket office closure and simultaneous with this all waiting rooms closed, also when the station is unmanned.
The larger waiting room has been closed for two months, awaiting redecoration. If it wasn't for the covered rail bridge, there would be no cover at all.
Full marks to the staff, when there are any, especially at busy times.
Otherwise the Link station has no more convenience than an un-manned halt with an unreliable video information screen on rail times.
Not good enough for a station that attracts as many passengers daily as Great Malvern, if not more.
Improved appearance is no substitute for service.
