RESIDENTS of Bidford's Grafton Lane have had their say on the possible widening of their footpath to help physically disabled people and mothers with pushchairs.

Bidford parish councillors sent out letters to residents of Grafton Lane as part of a consultation exercise to see how best to approach the problem and 30 per cent responded.

At last Monday's meeting, October 25, Elisabeth Uggerloese, the parish clerk, was instructed by members of the parish council to write to Warwickshire County Council with the results.

After the meeting she said that most of the residents were in favour of widening the footpath, despite the chance that some of them may have to give up part of their gardens for the scheme.

There were also comments that people were partly parking on the footpath and neighbours believed speeding was an issue and called for action to be taken to reduce it.
