ORGANISERS of an annual fund-raising campaign, which raises money to help provide nursing care and support for cancer patients, are appealing for volunteers in Wyre Forest.

Marie Curie Cancer Care is looking for members of the public to spare a few hours to help with their 2005 Daffodil Appeal next February and March.

The charity provides high quality nursing care for terminally ill patients who have chosen to stay in their homes and more than 17,000 patients are cared for every year in the UK.

During February and March, there will various fund-raising events and collections as part of the annual Daffodil Appeal and daffodils will be sold in shops, banks, schools and gyms as well as on the street by volunteers.

It is hoped that £50,000 can be raised in Worcestershire, Gloucestershire and Herefordshire to help provide nursing for cancer patients in this area.

Sian Millard, the charity's community fund raising co-ordinator said: "We are hoping to raise a great deal of money which will enable us to continue the charity's excellent work throughout the community.
