GRAHAM Allner has warned the Kidderminster Harriers' board that choosing the next manager is one of the biggest decisions in the club's history.

Allner is one of the names in the frame to succeed Jan Molby but regardless of whether he is considered for the job he is anxious Harriers get the appointment right.

The former long-serving Kidderminster boss is keen to return to the dugout after a brief spell in charge of Cheltenham.

"It's difficult for me to talk about it because of the time I spent there and I still know a lot of people there so I don't want to speak out of turn.

"But I will say this, the people there have got a crucial decision to make and I think it will be the most important decision the club has had to make in recent times.

"It really is vital that the board get the right man for the job because this is the future of Kidderminster Harriers we are talking about and they need to stay in the League."

Another former Cheltenham manager Bobby Gould has refused to rule himself in or out of the running after his recent controversial departure from Peterborough, where he was Barry Fry's number two.

Asked if he would be interested in managing Harriers, the former Wimbledon boss, replied: "You'll have to ask my wife!"
