BOSTON boss Steve Evans fears Kidderminster's players will raise their game on Saturday to impressive any potential managers.

The Pilgrims chief brings his mid-table team to Worcestershire still looking for their first away win of the season.

And despite Harriers current predicament, Evans believes it is a tricky time to be facing them, especially at Aggborough.

"I spoke to Jan this week and it's a shame to see him go because I've known him for a long time," he said.

"He's been very supportive of me since we were both promoted to the Conference.

"We've had two games against Jan in the past and I was looking forward to pitting my wits against him again.

"I've heard that whoever will get the job could well be in the stands and we know what that does to teams, so we will have to be wary.

Evans has also received positive reports about what Harriers are capable of from rival League Two bosses.

He said: "I've spoken to Ian Atkins at Bristol Rovers this week and he said for an hour they were given the run-around by Kidderminster.

"They've also beaten Scunthorpe at home and been unlucky with other results so our main aim is to go there and get a result."

After seven points from nine games before last Saturday's1-0 defeat to Shrewsbury, Harriers will be hoping to rediscover their creditable home form.

Harriers have been drawn away at League One outfit Port Vale in the first round of the FA Cup.

The tie was originally scheduled for Saturday November 13, but it has now been brought forward to Friday 12, kick off 7.45pm.

Kidderminster memorably got to the third round of the competition last season, when they were knocked out by Wolves after a replay.
