A CONTROVERSIAL planning application for a house in Badsey is likely to be subject to stringent conditions if approved today.

Parish councillors have voiced concerns about the development near Grow Plant Nursery off Bretforton Road.

The application has sprung from an enforcement matter after the owner of the nursery stationed a mobile home towards the rear of the business, without consent.

The new property is an attempt to resolve the problem.

Members of Badsey Parish Council have recommended the application be refused and enforcement action pursued. They also claim sewage is being discharged into a local steam and want the mobile home and existing septic tank removed as soon as possible.

Parish council chairman Reg Jakeman said: "I will be there to speak against the application. I understand that there is an existing dwelling tied to the site and if so it doesn't warrant a second one.

"The least we want is an adjournment in order to produce a full site lay out .

Wychavon District Council planning officer Gavin Greenhow has recommended planning approval providing with a number of conditions including better drainage and parking.
