CHADDESLEY Corbett remain in mid-table in North Mids South Two after something of a hard luck story in their 10-3 defeat at third-placed Bromyard.

They bossed much of the match with their forwards dominating the scrums and repeatedly pushing Bromyard off their own ball.

However, a combination of dropped passes and excellent defence from Bromyard kept Chaddesley at bay.

The tone for was set on five minutes when Richard Ash charged down a clearance kick only to knock on a metre from the line as he tried to collect the loose ball.

Bromyard opened scoring after 15 minutes with a penalty after Chaddesley were offside at a ruck.

Chaddesley responded with a Rowan Vorster penalty after Bromyard handled in a ruck 10 minutes later to square it at 3-3 at the break. In the second half, Chaddesley camped in Bromyard's half but couldn't get a further score.

Five minutes from time with Chaddesley on the attack, Bromyard's fly half intercepted a pass and ran 80 metres to score under the posts with the conversion making it 10 - 3 to the hosts.

Chaddesley piled on the pressure but were unable to recover and will be hoping for more joy at home to Old Griffinians on Saturday.

The seconds, who were under-strength, also suffered a defeat, losing 26-0 away at Bromyard seconds.

A series of cry-offs left them with only 14 players and Bromyard exploited the extra man to run in tries in each half.

They travel to Warley on Saturday.
